“*Sniff sniff*, can you smell that? Yeah neither can I” (Me talking to myself as I scoop up their poop, 2023)

Just before we got our boys, we, like every other parent in the world, started to panic, “Cage, check. Wet food, check. Dry food, check”…But what kind of litter box do we get? This one stumped us for a long time, so many shapes and sizes out there, some you have to change the litter and pad constantly, some automatic but slightly too intense for our new cats, we needed something in the middle.

That’s when my colleague (yes another one, we have a work cat gang basically) told me about the Ezi-LockOdour system, we tried it, and we have never changed since, something aren’t tied to changing every day but still keeping hygienic for our cats (I wouldn’t want to sit on a dirty toilet either hey).

Unlike the basic cat litter boxes, which is…a box. This system has the cat litter on top, with a separate compartment below to slot in an absorption pad. The Ezi-Lock, like a coffee machine, works best if everything is from Ezi-Lock, the litter and absorption pads.

Delivery Time: Speedy gonzales/10!

Price: Yes, everything is probably 5x the price of your base models, but if you think about it, we get 7 days worth for each pad, so that’s 7/5…a whopping 1.5x more worth! Yeah I know that’s not how it works, but in all honesty, for the quality and convenience, absolutely worth it.

Ezi-Lock Absoption pads: We tried using normal blue pads (Blueys for all you health professionals) and they are nowhere near as good as the Ezi-Lock specific cat pads, able to hold a week’s worth of fluid without leaking or oversaturating, quite frankly I’m amazed at how well it works.

Ezi-Lock litter pellets: Love it, the pellets don’t clump with pee like other cat pellets, and you are only scooping these out for those stuck on poop. The site recommends swapping this out every month, can’t say we follow it…but there’s never any malodorous smells or appearance with long usage. Cats can be quite…picky with how hygienic their toilets are, so for this to never have a single bit of trouble the whole time we’ve had it, it says something.

Overall Quality: I love it so much I could kiss it, except, you know, it’s a toilet and all…but yeah, LOVE IT! Be mindful though the weight limit (Yes, I never knew these things had weight limits) is 8kg, so sorry Garfield, maybe not for you 😦

Conclusions: The Ezi-Lock system truly lives up to its name, easy and locking. We had initial fears about the placement of our litter boxes as it’s in a room in the middle of the house with zero circulation. “What if the smell of pee and poop wafts through the whole house?” Well that has never happened (thankfully). Yes, it’s pricier than other products, but for how much hassle its saved us, well worth it!
